Today we would like to present to you a unique painting depicting a landscape with a fountain.
Landscape with Giuseppe Zaisa's fountain, inspired by a painting by a Venetian artist, created around 1765 and housed in the Accademia Gallery in Venice, measures 132 x 80 cm. This Arcadian landscape was painted in the mid-19th century using oil paints on cardboard, then transferred onto wood. The painting is in good condition, framed in an antique, carved, and gilded wooden frame, slightly damaged at the corners.

The composition depicts two figures in the foreground by the riverbank, with a classical fountain carved from white marble in the center. The fountain illuminates the scene and conveys a harmonious and cheerful atmosphere of everyday life, framing the scene with architectural elements on the right. On the left side of the painting, a landscape with architectural features is visible.

Giuseppe Zais was a Rococo-era painter from Belluno, representing the Arcadian school. He was a student of Francesco Zuccarelli, with whom he shared the honor of being the best painter of this genre. He painted many landscapes and battle scenes, and in 1774, he became a member of the Academy of Painting.
