Antique, gilded table clock

Today we would like to present to you a unique vintage clock.

This antique, gilded table clock dates from around 1800 and features a vertical design. The round dial is mounted on a two-handled vase with a lid, supported by two anthropomorphic figures whose legs take the form of plant scrolls. The entire piece rests on a profiled, rectangular base supported by five small feet. The enameled dial displays the hours with Roman numerals and the minutes with Arabic numerals.

The clock is equipped with a double-wind mechanism – operating both the clock movement and the striking of hours and half-hours. The inscription in the center, “Lassalle & C. A’ Paris 1 B. Des Capucines” indicates the manufacturer. The clock is functional and well-preserved.
