How to care for copper pots?

To ensure your copper pot lasts as long as possible, proper maintenance is essential. These types of vessels should not be washed in a dishwasher, as it could cause permanent damage. For cleaning a copper-made pot, a homemade mixture prepared from 0.5 cups of hot water, 1 cup of vinegar, juice from half a lemon, and 1 tablespoon of salt works very well. Mix the ingredients thoroughly, pour into a large bowl, and soak the vessel for a few hours. Alternatively, you can dip a soft cloth into the mixture and wipe the pot. Finally, rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly.



To clean a copper pot covered with a tarnish, prepare a paste of flour, salt, and vinegar. You can use it in two ways— either by rubbing it onto the vessel or applying it to its surface, leaving it for about 45 minutes, then thoroughly washing it.

Another method for cleaning copper pots involves… spinach or sorrel. The oxalic acid in them gives copper vessels a beautiful shine.
Before first use, wipe the copper pot with an acetone solvent to avoid green-blue stains that can form during use.
