The absence of a tail and signs of wear, consistent with its late 19th-century origin, attest to its antiquity and authenticity.
The piece depicts a carved wooden water buffalo in a standing position. It has been restored with minimal adjustments to the horns and their mounts, as well as the legs and ears. A bronze bell hangs around the buffalo's neck, symbolizing its significance in rural life.
