The human body is composed of approximately 70% water, making it one of the most essential components needed for proper development and functioning of each of us. Despite this, many people struggle with dehydration. It results, among other things, from consuming insufficient amounts of water daily or unknowingly dehydrating themselves through beverages such as coffee, tea, or alcohol.
Moreover, the pace of our daily lives, which is often hectic and stressful, has a significant impact on dehydration. For this reason, alkaline waters have recently gained increasing popularity, as research shows they allow for better hydration and help maintain the acid-base balance. It is worth learning what features noteworthy alkaline waters should have and what their beneficial effects are.
What is alkaline water and from what sources is it extracted?
Every dish we eat or drink we consume has its own pH level (neutral or acidic), which is determined using the pH scale. It is also worth noting that the pH scale can be used to indicate the acidity of our stomach acid, blood, or other fluids — maintaining this pH at the proper level greatly influences the maintenance of the acid-base balance that ensures the proper functioning of the entire body. Conversely, consuming highly processed, unhealthy foods, as well as drinking sweet, carbonated beverages, and experiencing chronic fatigue and stress can disturb this balance. As a result, we may feel weakness, fatigue, or irritability.
High-quality alkaline water, which comes from natural, deep underground sources, includes among others Alcalia, often referred to as SUPERWATER. Its pH is higher than that of regular mineral water or tap water — it is 9.36, making Alcali a water of alkaline character. As a result, regular consumption of alkaline water can help maintain a healthy acid-base balance in the body, neutralizing the effects of chronic stress, fatigue, or the intake of unhealthy or highly processed foods.

Alkaline water with pH — what are its most important properties?
In 2022, the AWF Institute in Katowice conducted studies on the impact of alkaline water on fat metabolism during prolonged low-intensity physical activity. The aforementioned Alcalia water was used in the study. The participants were a group of people of similar age and health status. All underwent detailed tests, during which they consumed regular water, alkaline water, or a placebo. The results showed that during prolonged low-intensity exercise:
• alkaline water with pH Alcalia very effectively hydrates the body,
• Alcalia water reduces metabolic stress, i.e., the increase in cortisol and noradrenaline levels,
• alkaline water optimizes conditions for fat utilization during exercise,
• Alcalia accelerates, intensifies, and prolongs fat metabolism.
Regular consumption of alkaline water noticeably contributes to the efficient functioning of the entire body. It is important to remember that regular drinking of alkaline water from deep sources, with its high pH resulting from natural processes, is very beneficial.
