World-renowned designers or the most famous fashion houses. On the other hand, sports brands highly valued by users. Aside from their focus on quality craftsmanship, they are theoretically divided on everything, yet many choose to collaborate and combine both styles. Here are the most popular collaborations and incredible collections created jointly by fashion and sports brands.
The world of high fashion and sports increasingly intertwines. Well-known luxury brands are more and more eager to collaborate with sportswear manufacturers, each with their own goals in mind. Enthusiasts and professional athletes alike now expect training apparel not only to be comfortable and practical but also to have a distinctive look. Luxury brands, in turn, seek ways to reach a broader audience. What are the most famous collaborations? What are their results?
1. Adidas & Gucci
Sport, luxury, and retro style. This is the result of the collaboration between one of the world's largest sportswear producers and one of the most renowned luxury fashion and accessories brands. The collection was created jointly by the German company adidas and the Italian fashion house Gucci. The designs are primarily overseen by Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci, who decided to combine characteristic elements of both brands. These include the globally recognized three stripes, the trefoil logo, and the GG monogram. The collection features items such as shorts, bucket hats, bags, as well as dresses and the most iconic footwear models, including Michele’s favorite Gazelle variant. Additionally, there are exclusive women’s and men’s loafers, platform shoes, and slides. All in retro style, with a palette dominated by browns and beiges, relaxed cuts, flared trousers, and long socks.
2. Karl Lagerfeld X Puma
One of the most recognizable fashion designers in the world. Karl Lagerfeld was also a photographer and the artistic director of Chanel. He created perfumes and cosmetics for women. For a period, he also led the Italian fashion house Fendi, although most people mainly associate him with his eponymous collections. Puma, on the other hand, is another German sportswear brand. Interestingly, its founder was Rudolf Dassler, the brother of Adidas creator Adi Dassler. In 2018, Puma celebrated its 50th anniversary. To mark the occasion, its owners invited the famous Karl Lagerfeld to collaborate. The result was a collection called SUEDE 50, named after the brand’s most famous shoe model. Besides these, the collection included sweatshirts, pants, backpacks, shoulder bags, and caps. Most items featured playful graphics inspired by the designer’s style, with elements reminiscent of a tuxedo, white collars, and black glasses.
3. Fila & Fendi
Fila is a globally recognized iconic sportswear brand. It symbolizes high-quality products for fitness enthusiasts and is also an icon of streetwear style. Founded in 2011 in Italy, initially it supplied equipment and clothing exclusively for climbers. Fendi is a luxury fashion house originating from the same country, established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi. It is mainly known for handbags, shoes, and furs. The first Fendi store opened in 1918 in central Rome. Interestingly, Karl Lagerfeld designed the Fendi logo in 1965.
The joint collection by both brands was named Fendi Mania. It offers items such as bomber jackets, tracksuits, sneakers, as well as coats, dresses, and furs. A common feature of all products is the prominent logos, reflecting the current season’s trend.
It’s worth noting that Fila also produces professional sports equipment, primarily roller skates, inline skates, and skating accessories. Stylish models for children, women, and men are now available in the Sportano sports store.
4. Supreme & Louis Vuitton
This is the most famous producer of luxury handbags and travel accessories. Products featuring the distinctive LV logo are loved by celebrities, sports stars, and famous actors. It is also the most frequently counterfeited exclusive brand in the world. It is estimated that only 1% of all handbags branded by Louis Vuitton are genuine, sourced from official distribution channels. Supreme is a brand originating from the United States, specializing in clothing and accessories for youth and skating enthusiasts. It is also extremely popular within the hip-hop community.

The joint collection of Supreme and Louis Vuitton includes not only clothing and accessories but also suitcases, travel gear, and even skateboards. Although both brands symbolize completely different styles, their collaboration has been exceptionally well received by users worldwide. The red color used by Supreme and the LV monogram, along with the use of high-quality materials and natural leather, make the entire collection look truly unique. Whether the aesthetics are preserved is, of course, a matter of personal taste. However, this collaboration has certainly given both brands even greater recognition and interest, and that was the goal all along.
