French antique desk from the 19th century in the Louis XVI style

We are pleased to present to you an original desk from the 19th century!

French central desk from the 19th century in Louis XVI style with four large front drawers, one with a secret compartment, secured with a lock, an internal drawer, original embossed brown keyholes, and functioning locks and keys. This elegant Louis XVI style desk is made of walnut with boxwood inlay, decorated with herringbone veneer, which creates refined color contrasts through alternating grain patterns. The interior is oak, and the drawers feature handcrafted dovetail joints.

The rectangular top is covered with warm beige leather, embossed with gold Greek key motifs along the edges, set within a wooden frame. The desk has two side drawers with brown knobs and two practical pull-out shelves on each side, also covered with leather, providing an additional 28 cm of storage space.

This 19th-century French secretary rests on four slender, truncated pyramid-shaped legs, topped with bronze feet in the typical Louis XVI style.

This antique desk has compact dimensions, making it highly versatile. It does not need to be placed against a wall; it can be positioned in the center of a room because the back is finished with the same decorative detail as the front. Small chairs are often placed behind the piece, ideal for conversations.

This elegant, antique French piece comes from a private collection in Milan. It is in good condition, with old restorations and minimal signs of wear, consistent with its 19th-century origin.
