Carved and gilded wooden wreathed head in the shape of a scroll, early 19th century, mounted on a modern turned base (height 3 cm). This piece was part of a larger decorative set but is perfect as a lamp base.
The gilding quality is particularly noteworthy, featuring a continuous contrast of gloss and matte, achieved through both the agate-polished convex parts and the engraving of the base. Condition: good, with minimal gilding loss and chips. Italy, early 19th century.
