Today we are pleased to present to you the beautiful sculpture of a goat by artist Ernesto Bazzaro.
This is an important Lombard sculptor and engraver active at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Bazzaro (Milan 1859-1937) was known for his innovative approach to sculpture, characterized by dynamic realism and great attention to detail, often with a touch of expressionism, which gave his works an almost impressionistic quality. His works included portraits and scenes from everyday life, with particular emphasis on depicting movement and emotion.
The Bazzaro signature, engraved in italics on the shaped bronze base, helps confirm the authenticity of the piece. The rectangular marble base, 2 cm high, on which the bronze sculpture rests, is an important detail because marble is often used in combination with bronze to achieve a refined visual effect and ensure the stability of the work.
