We are pleased to present to you the figure of a gilded boy with a dove on his shoulder.
The neoclassical sculpture depicts a cherub sitting at the base of a staircase, with its face turned to the right, towards the hand holding a dove at face level. The curls of the hair are of exceptional quality and, like the draperies, are masterfully carved.
The figurine is mounted on an 8 cm diameter malachite cube, on its side. The provided dimensions also include the base made of hard stone.
The sculpture itself measures 15 cm in height, 6.8 cm in depth, and 5.8 cm in width. It is in excellent condition consistent with dating to the first half of the 19th century. It is of Roman origin but comes from a private collection in Lombardy.
