Today we are pleased to present to you a special figure of the Baby Jesus.
Terracotta Child Jesus from the late 18th century, depicted in a standing position, unclothed, on a beautiful gilded base. Made in central-southern Italy, it is dated to the late 18th century.
The Child Jesus alone, without the base, is 29.5 cm tall. This ancient religious sculpture has been restored in two places: on the left thigh and the right arm, where fingers were also missing.
The surface of the base has been varnished with ochre; as it is unfinished, it was probably originally covered with fabric.
Currently, it is in good condition.
