Gilded capitals, 1800, made of carved poplar wood, originally part of a larger decorative ensemble. In a composite style, the capitals feature carved flowers beneath the abacus in the volutes of the Ionic order, with a carnelian section adorned with tendril motifs and well-carved details.
The capitals are gilded with noble gold on an ochre base made from trunk wood. They are in good condition, with minimal signs of wear consistent with the period and traces of nail heads used for attachment to the structure. Italy, 1800.
