Today we are pleased to present to you a unique pair of antique candlesticks.
Pair of gilt-bronze Empire-style candle holders, 1800, set of two French candelabras in Empire style, made of ormolu, originating from the first half of the 19th century. These antique French vases serve dual purposes: decorative and as elegant candlesticks. By flipping the reversible, domed lid, each transforms into a candlestick.

Made in the early 19th century, they are urn-shaped, typical of French fireplace candelabras. They rest on a cylindrical plinth, precisely carved with floral and geometric motifs, with a square base. The bronze gilded with mercury, or ormolu, creates an alternating combination of matte and shiny finishes, characteristic of this period. The upper part of the cup is decorated with seed pods, grapevine shoots, and leaves, and the lid is adorned with concentric beads topped with a pinecone-shaped knob.
They come from a private collection and are in good condition.
