A pair of eight-layer table candlesticks in silver-plated and gilded bronze

Today we would like to present to you a unique pair of 19th-century candelabras.

Pair of eight-armed, silvered and gilded, brown table candelabra from the second half of the 19th century, crafted with lush rocaille decoration, rich in swirling shapes and botanical motifs, supported by two gilded angels. These two impressive 19th-century candlesticks feature baluster stems supported by mounts, eight spiral-shaped arms, and represent an extraordinary example of 19th-century Italian craftsmanship, with attention to detail and intricate floral finishing.

Formed, multi-petaled bases supported by four leaf-shaped legs give the candlesticks stability and a regal appearance, while the arrangement of eight candle arms on three levels creates a pyramidal effect, emphasizing the lightness of the decorative elements.

The effect is both monumental, due to the size of these large candlesticks, and harmonious. The choice of two-tone finish, combining silvered frame with gilding of two cherubs sitting on a rock, creating a fascinating chromatic contrast, visually enriches these works with flowing forms and intertwined leaf and floral motifs. The flat, depthless back makes them ideal for tight spaces such as console tables or wall-mounted tables.

Originating from northern Italy, they are in perfect condition.
